Our commitment to people and planet
We've partnered with individuals and organisations to create better services and to change the way organisations work, using the power of Design. Organisation by organisation, system by system, service by service, project by project, individual by individual.
And we ensure our own actions and behaviours reflect the impact we're striving to have on people and planet.
Why? Because we care about creating a fair and equitable world where the inclusion of diverse thought and experience is a norm, and people from underrepresented groups are more involved in shaping the fabric of our society than ever before.
Why? Because we care about acknowledging the past and doing what we can now — using our sphere of influence and our position of privilege — to support the Uluru Statement from the Heart and accept the call to “walk with us in a movement of the Australian people for a better future”. You can view our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) here.
Why? Because we care about reducing consumption, waste, and damage to our environment that causes loss of ecosystems and extreme weather.
Also because the economic, human and environmental risk of inaction is increasing. Every organisation — including our own — needs a coherent, strategic response to climate change.
Meld Studios acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country on which we live, work and gather. We pay respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge their continuing connection to lands, waters, and communities. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
Meld has committed time, people and money to understanding what it means to be in a sovereign relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are committed to reshaping our mindsets, business practices and relationships.

After influencing Australian legislation, Meld is the first Australian business to become Employee Owned by Trust (EOT). This means that every Meldster wears two hats - practitioner and business owner, has a direct say in the direction of the company, and gets the benefit of equal profit distribution due to our collective efforts.
We are very deliberate about creating:
We have an Advocacy Framework and Impact Toolkit to help us to make ethical, sustainable decisions in our projects and business conduct. We are executing our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan, which includes relationships with Aboriginal-owned businesses to help elevate the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in all that we do.
