Meld Studios recognised with Good Design Awards 2022 Design Team of the Year
Meld Studios has been recognised as the 2022 Design Team of the Year.
"The Good Design Team of the Year Award is a special honour bestowed annually to a design team who consistently performs at the highest level in the annual Australian Good Design Awards and has made a positive and tangible impact in establishing and maintaining a design-led culture within their organisation.
The Award aims to inspire companies to build and maintain a design-led culture throughout the organisation.”
Dr Brandon Gien, CEO of Good Design Australia and Chair of the Awards says, “Every designer at Meld Studios displays commitment to attacking design problems as a team. Using human-centred design principles they collaborate with each client with the same level of passion and drive as the previous, proving that a problem shared is a problem halved.
Meld has been at the forefront of embedding design as a strategy for their clients and was one of the early pioneers for service design in Australia. Their work spans such a diverse range of sectors and design disciplines from government to education and across the private sector.
I hope this Award will amplify their outstanding contribution to design in Australia” , said Dr. Gien.
Over the past 13 years the team at Meld have striven to take Design into new spaces and challenges, working with our clients to tackle problems in organisation design, strategy, public policy, customer experience, and complex services. Since our founding we have looked to close the gap between decision making and the people impacted by those decisions. We continue to push this boundary, advocating for change with people rather than to them.
We recognise the potential for Design to play a central role in tackling the pressing problems we face as a global community - from climate change to rising inequality; access to essential services; the transition to a decarbonised economy; and our ability to live sustainably. By broadening our perspectives, and including more people in the act of decision making, Design can help improve the paths we choose to take.
We bring this same attitude to our own business, and recently became the first Australian-headquartered company to be Employee-owned by Trust. This transition dramatically changes the way our decisions are made, and benefits are shared.
The team today at Meld builds on a legacy of work crafted by everyone who has worked with us - the 70-odd employees; the hundreds of clients; and the thousands of people who’ve contributed to the projects on which we’ve worked. Thank you all for taking this journey with us!
We are deeply honoured to have been recognised with this award and thank the Good Design Australia team.
