2016: A year in review
We look back on 2016 as a year of contrasts: the disappointment of Brexit and the US Presidential Election juxtaposed with the birth of a child to our GM, Alison, two engagements (Dom & Laura), and the opening of our Melbourne studio.
The year has taken us to all corners of Australia, and all around the world – observing people, talking to them, conducting workshops & training, listening and learning, experiencing – and we’re the richer for it. We’ve been to Finland, Turkey, the US, Colombia, England, New Zealand, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Ireland… We’ve seen the desert of Central Australia and the corporate towers of Sydney and Melbourne.
We’ve worked with all levels of Government, and in three separate states, and we’ve helped bring the citizenry closer to policy decision-making and public service delivery as a result. We’ve worked in financial services, telecommunications, travel, tertiary education, health, social security, mental health, culture. We’ve worked on vision & purpose, strategy, and implementation. We’ve worked on digital products and not-so-digital services. We’ve re-designed train services, and explored the world of pharmacists. Looked at the dynamic shape of our superannuation industry, and helped young people find work.
We’ve had the privilege of working with 54 different organizations in 2016, collectively touching nearly every household in Australia.
Throughout the year we’ve enjoyed the presence of a series of great interns, many of whom travelled here from overseas to work with us. They came from Scotland, USA, Australia and New Zealand. They’ve gone on to new adventures once more…
With the Holidays right in front of us, and 2017 on the horizon, we are excited about the coming months and the new challenges facing us. We can’t wait to share those with you.
Thank you all for being a part of Meld Studios in 2016 – be you client, colleague, friend or family. We’re honored to know you, and thankful for your ongoing support.
And we wish you and your families the very best of wishes for the Holidays, and a bright 2017.
